The One who Understands
The One who Understands
May intelligence be so pure and like the sun,
enlightening the clouds, beyond the double veil;
in order to behold the knowable and true,
while holding in the Heart the scriptures that are bound;
for those tormented by the ignorance and pain,
the prison of rebirth, while choking in the dark;
may love in sixty ways with melody be Speech,
to each and every soul as if an only child;
be like the dragon's roar, those sleeping woken up,
the afflicted are set loose, of karmic iron chains;
be wielded as a sword, that cuts whatever sprout
of suffering and clears the ignorance and gloom;
and may the body be, pristine, the prince and Guide,
whose talented, complete, upon the final ground,
with ten times ten and twelve the ornaments all worn,
by bowing to Sweet-Song, may darkness be dispelled.
Oṁ arapacana dhī:
Your wisdom and your light, supreme and full of love,
detaching from the dark and torpor of the mind,
please grant a ready speech acuity that can
discern the Budhha's Word, the scriptures and all works.
